Can no longer see icon/pic of jpg file when saved to desktop

No that is Finder not Photoshop, do you know where Photoshop preferences are

Yes- that is where the icon and windows thumbnail are checked in "file handling"

You have plenty ofRAM?if you don't have enough RAM it won't display the images eventually

8GB should be good - no other programs running

The only thing I can think of for you to check is right-click it go to get info
window will come up of that icon that's not displaying on the show item info show icon preview are they checked off
