Camera Raw isn't opening for raw files from Lightroom Classic.

First, I have the subscription models of LR and PS with default settings and current updates. Yesterday I updated Camera Raw and since that time, whenever I send a file from LR Classic to be edited in PS 2025 it opens in the PS workspace instead of in ACR as before. I uninstalled and reinstalled PS but the problem still exists.

Much appreciation for any advice you can offer.

When you "send" a file from LIghtroom, which steps were you previously using, e.g., Edit in Photoshop or some other specific approach?
Many users do all the raw editing in the Lightroom Develop module, and when using Edit in Photoshop, ACR is bypassed and goes directly into Photoshop per the Lightroom raw settings (e.g., which bit depth and color space to use).
It might be helpful if you could clarify why you are using ACR in Photoshop instead of the Develop module.
There is a way to open Adobe ACR from Lightroom, yet most users don't take advantage of that approach.
Of course I might be the one confused here :)

Good Morning John,
Thanks for responding, and no, I don't think you're the one confused. I'm not sure I accurately described what I'm experiencing.
I prefer developing raw files in ACR to doing them in Lightroom develop module. Can't really explain why but I'm just more comfortable doing it this way. I use LR mainly for importing and organizing raw files.
I can open raw files directly into ACR using Bridge, or just by browsing my files and selecting the ones I'm looking for, but it seems that I was once able to open it in LR, choose edit in PS, and then it would open in ACR. Now it opens in PS, from where I can open it in ACR via the filter gallery, but that is a different version of ACR lacking some features (camera profiles for one).
Once again, thank you for reading my original post and responding!

Hi @ArMor72
You're welcome, and thanks for the clarification. You are not alone in preferring ACR over Lightroom's Develop Module.
Could you provide the specific way, when you were in Lightroom, the command, process, or steps to open the file directly in ACR.
I do know that if you use Show in Finder (or Explorer, I assume for Windows machines), you can right-click on the file name and choose the app you want to use to open the file.
Yet you may use another approach from within LR, which I may be unfamiliar with. I also assume you are opening a raw file and not a JPEG, TIF, or PSD file into Photoshop (that requires other setting changes)
Debugging your issue requires getting down to details to get it figured out.
In any of the above cases, it is imported in the LR catalog settings that you have the Metadata auto-exported to an XMP file. Also, upon return to Lightroom, if you have metadata stored in the Catalog, you need to update the metadata to your catalog.

I bet we can figure out your problem bit by bit with the specifics.
