3D Another problem.. 3D

the image you posted above would be really hard to make using photoshop. (im reffering to the character in the image)
your better off learning a proper 3d app like Cinema 4D or blender which is free.
also a sculpting app like Zbrush or Sculptis which is also free.
and use photoshop to improve the image.

only way you could produce character in photoshop like the image you post would be to draw it which you cant teach

go to window > 3d you will get a new 3d panel come up that lets you control the nurbs lighting textures etc
