Adobe Photoshop Brush HELP

I do not know if this is significant to this problem, but I have just checked and the eraser tool, the clone tool, the pencil and brush, and any of the tools of this type have the same problem as I have stated before.

try in preferences
Cursors> change those settings around……. is that the issue?

The version of the Mac OS is Mac OS X. I do a lot of graphic work and keep ALL major projects on an external drive - Western Digital. I do not have hardly anything on my hard drive.
I am using a MacBookPro and have had it about a year. Photoshop was on the Mac when we purchased it new from Apple - we purchased Photoshop and Word, Ppt, Excel, and whatever else goes with that group. I have never installed anything - software, games, whatever - on the Mac and I do not download hardly anything. If I do download, it is from some site that I know is clean.
ANY suggestion that you have is welcome and your help is appreciated. Martha

incase you missed it check last post from me

I had not thought of the cursor options - I did change one at a time and check to see if any difference was made. No difference.
I am almost to tears. I really appreciate your help, but I am about to give up.
I am going out and pot flowers, play with the dog and get away from this computer for several hours.
Again, thank you. Martha
