That was lovely. The computer froze. I had to shut down with the power button which is not good considering it has been done by Apple a few times already this month... rebooted and was not allowed to sign in to this site even though the name and password are correct. Had to change the password yet again. Finally, 28 minutes later I'm back.

You need to use these links I posted in post 9
https://helpx.adobe.com/ie/x-productkb/policy-pricing/cs6-product-downloads.html

Select the MAC version from the above link

Then after you install PS, download the below link to install the update

This is it. There is no request for a serial number. There is nothing to do to get it to install that I can see. I have wasted so much time on something that should have taken 5 min. Where do I go from here?

Can you see the smoke coming out of my ears? I looked, it said to use 'package contents' but there isn't such a thing on Sierra. Then I read that CS6 isn't compatible with Sierra, but I have it on Sierra. It just keeps saying it needs to be reinstalled. I have wasted so much time with this bs I am going to scream! Can you please give me 1, 2, 3 instructions because I don't know what the hell they are talking about or what to do when I can't find what they are talking about...

Why do they say click on 'show contents' if it doesn't exist? I those words when I click 'open.

OK. I just got off the phone with Apple. Amy, my senior advisor got it installed and opened. Gotta love senior advisors.

The 'show contents' is not easy to find... but she found it.

Thank you all for helping. You have no idea how much I value your input. Really.

HI Again,

Now that I have PS CS6 reinstalled I have a continuing problem. Each time I click on a layer .... wait for it.... the freakin' tools disappear. Every time. I have to go back to 'view' and make them magically reappear. Touch a layer and POOF THEY ARE GONE AGAIN. I am so sick and tired of having problems...

What is wrong now? How do I make it stop doing that? It was doing it in the earlier download that said to reinstall... now it's still doing it.

Thank you very much for those links. Preferences are and have been set and present no option for showing the tool bar. I suspect it is simply supposed to be visible unless clicked out. I had too much trouble getting this installed and opened to delete it and try again. It's something else... since the one it replaced started doing the same thing a few weeks ago.
