Certainly! Here's my technique.

I isolated the parts of the bag that I did not want to be re-colored. This served as the uppermost layer for all the color changes.



Then I simply used a displacement map. This TUTORIAL is the closest to what I did for this effect.

The only thing I did differently than the tutorial is I changed the setting in step 9 to "Wrap around" in Undefined areas.

If I felt there needed to be some darker shadows, I used the burn tool on a low opacity setting.
