Ad for newpaper printing

Ronmatt, Why are there so few of you out there? I mean, almost every pdf i get from a design firm ( I'm working in Prepress )
are no good. Either to much inc coverage or no bleed and low res images. Almost 50% of all files i get are bad.

Wish there were more of you out there.

Arkpressen, my background includes a stint in 'conventional' prepress where I worked for one of the highwst quality pinters in L.A.
I was doing that when DTP began to insert it's presence into printing. Most of my time was spent correcting native files from Quark.
You tend to learn a lot about graphics software. I got back into design about 10 years ago. I continue to do remote prepress for some publications and 4 print shops. Most of my software is licensed to those printers and I'm kept up to date with most everything. So many designers know almost too much about hardware and software, but so little about how to prepare their work properly. I'm here to help them as best I can. What amazes me is how many designers I talk to on the phone or e-mail, concerning how to prepare files, and the next month, their files are still screwed up. It's like " Bleed ? Idon' need no stinkin' bleed, Ron will fix it".
