Nagel Brush Series - anyone have a list of names?

Still need set names - the process you describe above can give some clues when individual brushes have meaningful names, but not for Nagel sets which are just numbers. And many of the individual names are just numbers. Here is what I have pieced together via web articles and my own observation...

Is this possible? Layer toggle with a twist?

Thank you again, it worked! A few notes: My toolkit is in: C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Utilities - CS5\ExtendScript Toolkit CS5 My scripts were in: C:\Users\<my name>\Documents\Adobe Scripts And - I had to delete the line about Insert Menu Item, leaving your script which I pointed to...

Is this possible? Layer toggle with a twist?

Awesome Paul! I am indebted to you. I will try this as soon as I get a chance (duties call at the moment) and post back.

Is this possible? Layer toggle with a twist?

Hello Paul, That looks quite logical. Unfortunately for me, I have not a clue how to get that script (or any script) into Photoshop. Could you please educate me on how I can make that show up (and connect it to a key - say F2) in Photoshop CS5? Many thanks, and sorry for the newbie question.

Is this possible? Layer toggle with a twist?

Hi Stric, That's a nice tip (thanks), but it doesn't get me what I am after: If I have to move my hand all the way over to the layers tab every time I want to turn on and off the layer, I may as well just use the eye icon for the top layer without alt. What I am after is a way to have an...

Is this possible? Layer toggle with a twist?

Hi, As a beginning PS painter, I am looking for a script or action that will toggle the top layer visibility on/off, and when it toggles off, return me to the later I started from. If it makes it simpler, this could be the layer right below the top layer. This would all be done with the push...

Nagel Brush Series - anyone have a list of names?

Howdy, I just downloaded the Nagel series of brushes (1-39) and would like to organize them with my other brushes. The brushes all have names like "NagelSeries_24.abr" and I want to give them descriptive names so when I see them in PS I can make sense of what I have. I have searched for a...

Can custom graphics tablet brushes be made for Photoshop?

Perhaps better than dealing with a dialogue every stroke would be another work around I found - using the touch ring to rotate the canvas while stroking in the branches. If someone knows of a better solution, do tell!

Can custom graphics tablet brushes be made for Photoshop?

Hoogle, Sorry, I must be doing something wrong. Please see my attached screen shot. I have set everything to tilt, and it does not have any effect on a regular brush's tilt control (other than jitter which I do not want). Again my goal is to paint in tree branches at whatever angle I need...

Can custom graphics tablet brushes be made for Photoshop?

How does that allow pen control of the image angle when stroked on the screen?

Can custom graphics tablet brushes be made for Photoshop?

Hoogle, Yes, but I don't want angle jitter, I want to specifically control the angle with my pen angle. Am I missing something?

Can custom graphics tablet brushes be made for Photoshop?

I would like to make a tree branch brush. I know how to capture a new brush from a selection. I do not know how to make the new brush respond to the tilt and pressure from my wacom tablet pen. It almost seems that there is a certain limited set of pre-defined tablet brushes. I hope that is...

Photoshop Brush Management - one idea

My problem was that I had so many sets I could not see them all in PS, and as I said I found scrolling through dozens of thumbnails or using abr viewer to be a pain in the butt - I wanted to find a way to have a quick thumbnail view available within PS. But, as with so many things PS, there are...

Photoshop Brush Management - one idea

Oh, I should have also mentioned that immediately after you create the consolidated new abr file, delete the original 15 sets, otherwise they will still try to show up in your brush preset manager. Of course before I started, I zipped up my originals for safety.

Photoshop Brush Management - one idea

I had over 344 folders with over 1000 brush sets, and when viewed in PS the list would not fit on the screen. One solution mentioned is to use the free abr brush viewer app, but I was not too happy with the feel or functionality of it. So here is what I did - there may be better ways, but this...

How to make these globes? (Pls see picture)

OK thanks. I will keep playing with this. I was hoping for an easier method, but perhaps there isn't one. I may try the globes in Cinema 4d after creating the rest as a background, and rendering it all out together. Not sure if that's easier though....well, thanks again for weighing in!

How to make these globes? (Pls see picture)

Hi dv8, Thanks for the quick reply! Ok I am trying to follow your thought. Lets say I made the 3 brushes, plus I had the 4th underling layer of the blue semi transparent globe. So say that I am able to get one globe done perfectly. If I flatten those 4 layers down and make a brush out of the...

How to make these globes? (Pls see picture)

Hi Folks, I am studying PS and using the attached file to learn new techniques. The file is from Digital Art.org by Mark Sedgwick. I am a bit stuck on how the blue semi transparent globes were made. I can get close, but I can't seem to get it right especially the white/pink highlight on each...
