Hey there!

I want a professional yet appealing logo for my company. Since I'm new to PS it wouldn't be easy for me to create a logo all by myself. So I would really appreciate if anyone could create one for me or atleast help me out in creating one.

Hi splash, welcome to PSG.

Helping each other grow in Photoshop (and other programs) is what we like to do.

In order to help you though, you need to supply us with information about your business, what kind of logo you want, where it will be used, etc. As with your watermark questions, I think you are ready to make a basic logo, but nothing complex. If someone wanted to help you though, they would need more info than you've given.

It would be great if you would upload an image of the work you have done so far.

Ok so I am in the development processes of starting a business. The business is about Online hotel reservations through a website. Like customers will visit my website, select hotel, room, dates and pay. So the logo I want should be emphasizing this and mostly the logo will be placed on the website and on business cards as well. The name would probably be 'HaramTrek' of the company so I wan a logo including these words or just letters which ever looks good. The word 'Haram' should be in reddish maroon and the word 'Trek' should be in sea blue color or vice versa.

I would appreciate any pre-development design ideas to be presented so that I could pick out one.

Well it depends on your starting point are you designing the website first or the logo first.

I will usually design my logo 1st then accompanying stationary like letterheads and business cards and then make a website to match the style.

Same goes if a client wants a website doing and already has the stationary done I will try and incorporate the style into the website.

Ultimately the theme will be suited to the company.

Excuse my ignorence is HaramTrek meaning Trek as in trekking hiking etc and what is the Haram part Referencing to Is it a foreign word (to the English language) if so what does it mean.
 
Just a suggestion Splash. Look around online or wherever to find some you like. Then we'll get an idea of the style you like. Limitless possibilities from minimalist to baroque and so on.
 
Hey Splash, is it smart to call it that? If I should walk by a hotel and I read ''haram''trek.. I (and I'm sure I won't be the only one) would immidiatly think something vulgar is going on inside...

Unless ofcourse there are going to be some nasty things happening in there, than the assumption will be correct :D

@Hoogle Haram means forbidden in Arabic..

Dude, you are mistaking BIG TIME here!

have you ever been to Masjid Al haram or heard about it? Since you know about Arabic, I'm sure then you must've heard even once in your lifetime masjid al haram! (your 'haram' is "Haraam" not haram!)
 
Well I was working on a logo Idea but after visiting your site it is a logo that will not fit with your site at all.

And as I did not know what Haram meant (excuse my ignorance) I focused more on the Trek part. But this is where little knowledge is dangerous.

If I was equipped with your site to begin with and had a basis to work off and knew the meaning of your wordings I would have come up with something totally different.

Back to work for me but If I get a chance later on I will relook at it for you.

Ofcourse I heard of that mosque, but it's a mosque not a hotel :)
I'm just saying, if I misinterpreted it, others will too..

Well that's what I'm here for actually. To get ideas of what sort of logos are in these days.
