wow Wow WOW!!!!!!!!

It's a DELL UltraSharp 2005FPW 20.1-inch Wide Aspect Flat Panel LCD Monitor.
They have a 24'' model and even a 30''! I don't think that would even fit on my desk!

Congratulate!
BTW on the side note the puppy that got your name end up in Irish family! Go figure way? \:/

p?tr??k .. congrats ... no more 14" 8} 8} ... am planning (and saving my pennies) for a wide screen, flat to replace my 2x17" desk hoggers ....... my pshop hobby is soooooo out of control!! :bustagut: 8D :bustagut:

The Dell 30" is very nice. It's specs are slightly better than the Apple 30" but the cost is actually more if you include the graphics card you need to run it (an additional $600). The addition of a card reader on the side of the panel is sweet too.

We have the Apple 30" and it was just plug 'n' play with the Mac G5 Dual Core (no need to buy a graphics card). Looking at this much real estate is almost overwhelming (2560x1600). We can have 3 documents side by side and still have room for palettes. It's amazing.

You don't realize how much time you waste zooming in and out of a project until you have one of these babies. It nearly cuts our project-time in half.

Thinking about getting a second one. Now THAT would truly be self-indulgent. :D

Hey Alistair, it's called Window Blinds.
http://stardock.com/
I've been using it for along time now, and I love it. I've even made a Window Blinds skin too. It doesn't really serve any purpose, it just makes everything look pretty.
You can also get loads of skins at www.wincustomize.com
Have fun! :D

yup, am there now ... thanks for the link, really appreciated .... now where is the 'flower power' skin?? :D

It doesn't mess anything up Alistair, I've been running windowblinds for a few years now. There's no GUI issues. That occurs mostly when you fool around with your log-on and/or Windows start-up screen. Right now I'm using a MILK theme. I switch every now and then when I think I'm getting board. I have a Mac and PC,
running through a switcher to 1 24"monitor and mouse. I like the custom themes because 1) Gates' designs suck and 2) all the controls are 'Mac' format [left side] and my mind isn't so quick anymore. Here's a look at it.

If you want to see a 'trick' desktop, check this out I simply runs over your desktop, it doesn't replace your theme.

Ronmatt is right, Window Blinds doesn't mess anything up. In fact, it actually is faster than XP native GUI because it is harware accelerated. It uses your graphics card to do all the UI 'painting'. Plus, WB5 supports per-pixel alpha (no more jaggedies). I personally love that feature because I HATE jaggedies! >:O

Well, I've heard some problems over at the Adobe Forums with people that used Windows Blinds... Maybe a peculiar skin caused issues?

I have gotten some poorly coded skins, I simply disgarded them. After a while you recognise the designers and know which ones will be trouble free.
