Total n00b here on the PS CS3 front.

All I want to do is Cut a person out of a picture and paste it on to another .

Why is it that I cant seem to do this??

What specific tools can i use to simply cut a person out and paste them on another pic??

You probably aren't making this harder than it has to be.

It depends a bit on how busy the background is, on the contrast between your person and the rest of the photo, on the color differences, on the resolution, on how nice you want the cut out to be...

There isn't a quick solution to it. You need a basic knowledge of selections and masks.

The fastest and dirtiest way is just to take the lasso selection tool and draw a selection around the person and then ctrl/com J and your selection will appear on a new layer, or ctrl/com C and then paste it into the new background.

If you want to make the person look like they actually belong in the new background that is going to take some study.

Indeed there is a lot of ways of doing this - post a thumbnail at photobucket or something and we could give you better input on what tool(s) to use.

Cheers -7
