Hello everyone

I have never used photoshop before and I am currently trying to create the pattern in the link using CS2.

www(dot)schreiner-savex.de/images/f16_sta_s_.gif

I managed to make the background gradient go from yellow to grey vertically and I've been able to put the default patterns over it in another layer. How should I go about making those jagged black scars into a seamless pattern, without resorting to freehanding it on paint.

Also how can I increase the scale of patterns so that the elements within appear bigger or smaller

Thankyou for any help and investing your time to come to the aid of some random over the internet
Post the image so we get some idea of what you request.

Thanks for putting the image up for me. I'll give that brush a go. Any tips for making it seamless or symmetrical across the vertical axis?

I don't think that is a seamless repeating pattern. This is why I suggested the brushes. There are camo patterns for photoshop and google is your friend.

Here is a tutorial on how to use the pattern maker in CS2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pop67DWd-iI
Perhaps you could paint your design on a new document and save the design as a pattern using the above tutorial as a guide. Good luck and have fun.
