Windows order in workspace

Hi all,

silly me I'm sure but I can't work it out. If I have a series of numbered images, say 30, numbered from 1 to 30 and I open them all at the same time the topmost image will beimage 30, the bottom most image 1.

How can I reverse this order?

Even if I manually choose, say image 5, then close it PS automatically selects image 30 as the next active window.

It would greatle facilitate my work if I could work on the image chronologically...

Hi Chris,

I don't have the slightest idea, outside of renumbering them (an automated action?), but did realize that a possible successful answer might well depend on knowing which version of PS you are using.
