Windows and Mac versions of Photoshop ...completely incompatible?

I probably know the answer to this but felt it was worth getting some comment from some other folks...

I have a copy of CS5 Extended for Windows. Is there any way that it can be run on a Mac? Can it be converted in any way or is it simply impossible?

Wow! The things you find out about! I am a CC subscriber so I could download a Mac version and not have to pay any more each month? If I later wanted to move the second account to another machine, do you know if there is this flexibility or is a once and only thing?
