If I wanted to place a photo of a person in one of the windows and make it look like the person is actually behind the window (outside of the room) and not just pasted onto the photo, is there a way that can be done to make it look as realistic as possible?

EDIT: Sorry I misinformed you.

Make a selection of each of the window panes and copy them to their own layer. Call this new layer the 'window pane layer'.

Place the 'subject' layer on the top.

Select/highlight the 'subject layer and clip it to the 'window pane layer'

Here's how to add the clipping mask. Select and right click the subject layer and select create clipping mask or hover your cursor between the two layers while holding down the alt/option key, you will see the cursor turn into a box with a black angled arrow pointing down, then click.
