how can I get rid of the line??

I agree with dv8, use the Pen Tool to make your selection then use Refine Edge/Mask to feather your selection.

After refine edge and a white BG.

As I said in the challenge topic, I am not familiar with the pen tool :(
I tried different methods of selecting.
As the tones are so apart, I thought it would leave me without any visible background.
I could try the quick selection.

The Quick Selection Tool will work, but the results are not as good.

Selection made with QST.

You'll have to start somewhere in learning how to tame the pen tool. Its the best way to make perfect selections. The magic Wand, Quick Slection and other selection methods can only do so much.

Here's another way - Create the selection by painting over the image in QUICK MASK MODE......

In this example, I used various size brushes to paint the selection ranging from 1 - 5 pixels for the narrow areas and large brushes for the remaining areas.....

QuickM01.jpg

Zoom up close . Click your first brush point , hold down SHIFT and click second point. Do this in small increments. Build up the mask gradually and do the brush work a section at a time.

When done, exit MASK MODE. The mask changes to selection marquee but will encompass the areas you don't need. Inverse the selection. Right click > layer via copy .

Use the erase tool while in Mask Mode to delete?touch up the brush work .

You may also need to use DEFRINGE to remove minute areas of the background included in the brush work.

This requires PATIENCE and a steady hand. So does using the PenTool.

It's just that you can't rely on just other methods all the time while the best tool to do the job is not being used and left idle....... Take time to learn using the Pen Tool.

.....Do it a section at a time and zoom up close. Click your first brush point , hold down CTRL and click second point. Do this in small increments. Build up the mask gradually......

Control or shift? Mine is shift.

Do the same with your flower ... But after duplicating flower on a new layer...

CTRL+click layer icon to select the flower, INVERSE, FEATHER the selection (3 pixels) and hit delete.

You may need to hit delete 1 or 2 more times to delete more of the remnant background from the flower.
