So if I wanted to bring up the last save all I had to do is click on the image, no need to go to file-open.
OK, you have stated this twice now. I'm sorry but this is confusing and I'm certain it's a communication problem. What image?So if was working on let's say 5 or 10 images I didn't need to go to file open, just click on the last saved image on the document window.
I hope this solves @johns issues.Good catch John! I have NEVER used the Start Workspace and this was not even on my radar. I knew it was there but I have never had use for it! I have never used it or knew of it's options. This is why having many eyes on a problem works best for a solution!

Are you talking about the the Start Workspace / Home page on PS where the recently used files are shown as images?
If yes, that is controlled by a preference setting under the General Section per this link:

Note if the recently used files list has been cleared (the clear option is under File > Open Recent then there will be no files to show

PS - What version of CC are you using?
Basically your history got wiped out on the welcome screen. I can't remember if that happened when I updated. But if you saved the files, you'll have to go the long way around - find them and reopen them. Then at least they'll show up when you reopen PS another day. It's the only thing I can think of...
