what tools would i use to make this shape?

i am not very good at the ps thing....how would i make a shape like this/

Trace it with the pen tool if you cant find the shape and then go to edit define custom shape you can then get it accessing your custom shapes menu.
I just did this quickly not 100 % accurate but in your custom shape menu select load shapes and navigate to this file wherever you save it .

zipped for reason forum does not accept csh files and this is what you get. Obviously if you want the path to be slightly smoother you will have to trace it yourself and spend more time on or edit the path using the direct select tool.
But if your not after perfection I guess just load this shape in.

Trace 1/2 of it with the pen tool, then duplicate the path, flip it over and join. Then both halves will be identical.

This is exactly, and always, how I do irregular shapes like that.

Work smarter, not harder.

yes it is tricky, BUT to really use PS fully mastery of the pen is critical. One of my biggest shortcomings, but more practice and I improve daily!
