What method should work best in this case?

I want to cut the hair of this model, cutting the other parts is very easy of course but i have trouble finding a method for the hair, i tried the background eraser tool but it doesent work very well.



It seems that the contrast between the thinner and more external locks is not enough, and thats a problem because the only hair thats difficult to cut is the external thinner locks..





I saw this video:

He uses channels to create a greater contrast between hair and backgroung, it looks great but it didnt work for me, theres no channel that gives greater contrast between hair and background, i tries red green and blu channel it didnt work



In the video the model has blonde hair, this model has black hair so i guess that the reason it didnt work.



Sometimes things are way more simple when you use someonelse's suggestion, so do you know another method that should work for me?

It would be best if you watched/read all of them and try them on your photo. Remember each photograph is different and that one technique may not always work on all photos. The more knowledge you aquire, the better suited you will be in dealing with a paticular situation. There are tidbits from each tutorial that could be used on your photo, you just need to arm yourself and start experimenting.
