Hi, Gurus, I would like to know what this kind of effect is called and how to make it using Photoshop. I think the background is a grunge effect if I am correct. Please give us a tutorial or some sort .
Thank you in advance

Regards

Nothing special or specific to actually give the effect a specific name. There are multiple techniques involved here.

The first is the selection of the players and removing their backgrounds. Looks as though each was done on their own layer as they all have specifically colored strokes (via layer style) for each. They all have colored offset shadows with different blending options created by selecting the players layer and filling it with color on a new layer below. Some with double shadows and others with only one. The background is just vertical color bands with grunge brush layer mask set on a colored solid bg, that may have a slight texture (via layer style).

This should be very easy to do for a user such as yourself who's been around and working with Ps for a long while now. If you have any questions about any of the above mentioned processes, just let me know and I can explain further.
