What have I done???

Suddenly, I have problems and don't know how I caused it.

1: Any addition I make to the canvas shows the transparent checkerboard. No color selection makes any difference.

2. When I go to text, the entire image is highlighted in red and the text entered shows something like crawling ants.

I think I have finally found the problem!!!

The images for this book are in PNG format and loading as "Indexd Color." Once I found that and changed to "RGB" things started to work as normally. What a hassle!!! In past books, all images were in JPG or GIF.

Is this standard for PNG? Can I change something to force a load as "RGB"?

As far as I know, that is standard. Perhaps someone knows of a script or how to write one for that action.

It sounds like you are using the text type mask tool.
