This is a pencil drawing that I did. I scanned it and added the color in Photoshop. What do you think?

I'm not an illustrator so I wouldn't know where to start with critiquing. Overall though I think it's a cool little character. What was the idea behind it?

Excellent work, other newbies can learn from your approach here well done again.

Thanks Paul. I've always had trouble with drawing from scratch using a Wacom tablet so scanning a pencil drawing and adding color in Photoshop works better for me. I don't seem to have as much control of the brush strokes with the tablet compared to using physical media.

Yeah i have a Wacom and it is weird to start off with compared to pencil and paper, but what you have achieved is very good, really nice colouring and shading.
Don't give up on the Wacom though it is full of wonderful little tools that will really help your quest.

Here's a painting that I did do from scratch with the Wacom…

It was supposed to be part of a larger painting but I lost steam when I was having trouble getting rock textures in it as realistic as I had hoped for.

Here's the 3d model of the monster that I built in Bryce to use for lighting reference…

You got some great skills with painting mate...

Something I can appreciate. I could maybe learn a thing or two from yourself. I'm starting to learn some painting, but it's a big world lol.
