Everyone is unique and this illusion is proof.
After concentrating on the revolving image each person will see a different colour. Some see yellow, some green and a rare few will see red.
The optic wheel is named Benham’s top after the renowned Victorian toymaker from Essex, Charles Benham.
Benham created the moving pattern for a spinning top in 1895.
Scientists are not sure why people see different colours.
One theory being suggested is that due to the receptors in someone’s retina and at what rates people respond to red, blue and green light.
According to Washington University: ‘It is possible that the colours seen in spinning Benham disks are the result of changes that occur in the retina and other parts of the visual system’.
‘For example, the spinning disks may activate neighbouring areas of the retina differently. In other words, the black and white areas of the disk stimulate different parts of the retina.’

Same as Sam..black, white and a brownish red

Black white and gray that is all there is if you're seeing something different than your brain is too slow to comprehend reality lol
Actually looking at the still images there only two colors, gray is the illusion

Yeah really. How can I see anything when I'm seizing?

I see pale gold.

If you're just seeing the original black and white, maybe try looking with your eyes unfocused?

As in epileptic seizure....... lol.

I know that, hence why I suggested a warning for those that suffer with it.

That statement implies its something to laugh at, or at least, thats how I read it.

I hope I'm wrong.

Regards.
MrTom.

Coming from clare..... in a way meant as a joke. And her way to say that the image is visually irritating..... just like the way she felt about my signature image from a few months back.....

But I noticed something about the image....

Try looking at it during the day with natural sunlight illuminating your computer room. It's night here and it looks different - I see it now with the palest of yellow streaks unlike this afternoon when it was darker yellow with a reddish tint on the edges.

Yes, I have a weird sense of humor, no offense meant MrTom. Your remark seemed to be made lightly. I'm sorry I didn't take it seriously. I don't scoff at these things. I was going to make this remark to Paul even before I read your reply. So count me among the emotionally insensitive I guess.
