Welcome to Hollywood

Ha ha! Do any of your friends tell you, "get a life?" Just kidding. You do so many things in PS is all I meant :naughty:

I love the car. If I were doing this, the only change I would make is the color, lighting, something, on the hillside. It looks bleak against the car and kind of brings it down. If it were a tad more surreal, I think it would blend together better.

IMHO. (humble . . . right . . . )

Right now my life is work, school, PS lol. Yeah I could of chose a different color, red is a good color for cadillacs. As far as the hillside what more could I do.....already got the iconic Hollywood sign, what more ya want lol.

Ok just noticed that some areas turned red that wearn't supposed to be red....wonder how that happened.

Ok changed color, lighting, didn't mess with the hill cause no idea what to do there. Looks alright if you ask me.

My worry is that a huge number of people in the world know exactly what the steep terrain in front of that sign looks like, and many of them will be thinking of this (and chuckling to themselves, "another unrealistic Photoshopper") ---->

Well if they don't like it then fine, I didn't do it to be realistic I did it cause I could. Yeah I know that it didn't look real and thats fine, not all manipulations have too be realistic. I just wanted something that said Hollywood behind the car.

Different background but same car....doesn't have anything to do with Hollywood, but oh well. In fact this parking garage is at a local mall back home where I used to hang out when I was younger.

I don't think unrealistic is bad if the whole image gives that impression to some degree. I like the second one simply because the hillside is green, and the primary coloring fits better. I think the red of the car is a nice dramatic touch and I liked that better, but that's just my preference.

The Hollywood sign itself is already whiter/brighter I think than the reality, so there's step one in moving it to the more surreal. My step 2 would be to transform the color of the hillside from dull brown to something more colorful and not necessarily red. The background hillside (not talking about the sign which is significant) is only important in so much as it causes the car to show off and supports the overall impression. A muted green, perhaps with motion streaks obscuring it slightly.

IDK, I'd play with it. But no point in doing so if you don't see what I am getting at and I'm not sure I'm being clear. The car under the freeway has a good reflection - though I'm not sure why it's reflecting given that it's on asphalt - but the background, which is very interesting, is too busy for the automobile to stand out. For example, the wind shield is lost in the lack of contrast. I would be interested in having the elements so I could at least demonstrate what I am describing.

OTOH, it's your concept. I just liked the red car better and think the original idea was good with a tweak or two. IMO.
(opinion book-ended by infernal acronyms)

I think so. The darkness of the hill may be a bit much but the drab is gone and the car stands out; as does the HOLLYWOOD! How about moving the car down a tad or putting some of the hill back in. The connection would still be there but the car would have more emphasis. I think . . . But if you're satisfied, that's all that matters in the long run.

Yeah think this is a good stopping point for this image. Trying to think of something I can do in illustrator so I can get some practice in on that. One of my up coming classes will be nothing but illustrator so if I can get some practice in maybe I can keep my grade up. Right now in my current class which is about halfway through I have a 100%, so I want to keep that up.
