Weird Banner Problems: Anyone Help?

Hi,

I'm having a couple of strange problems with a banner I'm working on for a website. The banner appears to be fine in Photoshop but I'm having problems when I upload and activate it on the website. The banner is on a transparent background, the purple background in the image is that of the website. As you can see in the attached screenshot, there is a strange line at the top of the image which appears to be from the image of the man in the picture. I have attached the PSD file and would really appreciate it if someone could tell me where I am going wrong and how I could possibly fix it?

Also, there is a white dot next to the text 'View Range' that isn't present in the PSD file, anyone know how to fix that? Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated as I have tried everything I can think of and I am completely stuck! One more thing; is there a way to make the text in the image more defined and smoother? I feel that it doesn't hold up well for a front page of a website and seems quite jagged.

Cheers,

Matt

well, lets start off with the render,
you cut out the person rather sloppy, if you fill the background with white in ht psd, you can see a lot of pixel around him havnt been erased.
try fixing that and then saving it as png.

I downloaded the file, but didnt find any problem causing those distrubances,
I'd say, just start over, cut him out propperly, and keep the text in text layers, not rastarising them.

that is rather strange I don't see that white line either. if your background is transparent, it must be within the page or background you're attaching it to

Thanks for the replies. I know the cutout was messy, I just wanted to get a basic idea of how the image was going to look on the website. It's now been cleaned up but the strange problem of the line at the top of the image is still there. I can't for the life of me figure out why or how it is happening. The line isn't there in Photoshop, only when I upload it onto the website does it appear.

It's so confusing because there are similar banners up on the site with no issues, which use the same dimensions, etc.

can you show us the website with that banner up?

looks like the text layer got moved down 1 row, try a new layer over to fill in with a row or 3 of black

The line is the bottom row of pixels from the image, flipped 540 degrees. Even if I wanted to an image just to see what it would look like, I would still cut the images properly, otherwise, if you like it, you are doing twice as much work from having to redo it. Just my penny/2cents worth!

agree with you,I checked the psd too, I didn't find any problem with it.. if you did the banner transparent, yes it's it should be in the page.. good luck!
