I am working on this site for a friend...it isn't close to being completed. Spelling not checked and the nav is not linked.

You can navigate the pages with the site map (bottom left side)

2 things I am looking for if you have a sec?

1.Pricing for the work. Package price? By the hour?

2. And just your thoughts about the look of the site. Layout?flow?ease of use.

Keep in mind... only started 2 days ago.

All made in PS and the html is created in Netobjects Fusion. Learning DWMX.. still a long way to go there.

This site will be live for about 6 months and then round 3 will be a MIVA site.

Thank you for you time.

(PLEASE do not comment unless it is constructive criticism)

I love the colors you have used for the site Hatch! The layout is great and the site is very clean. I can't comment on load times as I have a T1 line at home so everything loads fast for me. I did view the site in Mozilla 1.6 at 1280x960 with no problems. If you have a problem Mozilla will find it for sure!

As for price that is your call. I never quote by a package deal. No two sites are the same. I just take into consideration the following:

amount of graphics I will need to create
any edits that need to be done on any graphics the client may have
did they supply all text, no official writing from my end
will they be using my services for monthly maint or just creating the site
Plan for atleast 10 hours of graphic creation time, nav setup etc. and estimate the number of hours it will take to create the entire site.

Wonderful work Hatch!! :}

Good work for the time put in!
The only visual asthetic comment I have is there is too much gray, which drabs it out. The word "wood" should visually jive with what you are promoting. The edges of the cases in the display are too small, and the typeface is too light.

You might consider texturing the divider bar at the top in a wood grain, ditto for the text. There are some little squares next to the nav labels. Why not little wooden textured squares, or wood grain buttons? Just something to connote "wood" to the visitor's eye, which will hopefully keep them on the site longer.

Appreciate the great comments! Many thanks! I will change out the little squares on the nav and take a look at how a little wood accent goes with the design. The previouse site looked like it was straight from the saw mill LOL :D

Many things need to be fixed and created. One 800x600 I had a text block out of place site wide... so the dreaded horizontal scroll bar could be seen. That is fixed now. Honestly... with the advances in monitors and graphics cards... the resolution standard should be at least 1024x768. Just mu opinion. LOL

Well... back at it. Thanks again for taking the time to look it over...long way to go.

Hello again,

The program I use for the site creation is Netobjects Fusion 7.5

http://www.netobjects.com

It is comes with this function, can customize the graphic as well.

Really nice little program to use. Hope this helps.

Hatch :)

Thank you all for the comments.

I hade to change the header and the color scheme. I found a site on the net today that had the exact same look.

So? If you have any thoughts on this new look? I would appreciate your comments.

The MENU is dead? Please use the SITE MAP to look around.

Day 3? many things need adjusting.

Thanks again, Hatch.

Its a very well designed site. I like the colors and style. You can be proud of this accomplishment. :}
I like the net mapper too - Thanks for the link.

Hi Joy,

Thank you for the great comments! Since your last post I made a few small changes. The site is coming along. Lots to do.

Thanks again, Hatch :righton:

Doing great Hatch!! I am so glad you got rid of the wood around the logo. Kind of broke up the header but I think it looks very clean and professional now!! :} :B

:D Hello all,

Thank you for the great comments! So many things left to do... I am going to shrink the "Quality wood products" a little and increase the small thumbnails... not much... but to draw a little more attention to the company name.

Do you think the center is distracting?

I'm looking for a basic php form... a simple form to receive input from the site user. I have a form built in acrobat for the engraving page...need some way to have to user fill out the text for engraving online and e-mail it off easily. Just anothe option instead of using the pdf form.

Well... thanks again for the help. Take care, Hatch. :D

Not displaying

For some reason I'm not getting anything but a white page. I'm running firefox 3, so I'm not sure if you have compatibility issues or my computer is just being gay. But I must say that its one of the best white pages I have ever laid eyes upon.
