Web Photo Gallery - Does it or can it...??

I have a photo gallery on my website using Coppermine - which was installed directly from our web hosting services. This photo gallery has been in existence for almost 10 years now. Over the years, there's been issues and the 'host' has refused to upgrade to newer versions and ultimately, there's been glitches. Currently, they've stopped supporting it completely and I can't even login and see the admin panels to add photos or make adjustments. Time to look for something different... (I don't have the knowledge it takes to install a new Coppermine / Sql database and how to run it myself).

I know Photoshop has a Web Photo Gallery. My husband and I had used Photoshop for a photo gallery prior to using Coppermine (many many years ago). It was usable and we were able to whip up a web photo gallery quickly, but If I remember correctly...not easy to add photos without re-doing the entire thing. It's been a long time since then, and I would assume things have progressed since....

Please pardon- having a hard time getting my thoughts into questions:
After generating a web photo gallery in photoshop - how are the photos/gallery uploaded to your site (in terms of directories, folders, albums, etc)? Do the photos have to stay in the same folder as the HTML?
Can you create new & different folders, albums, categories and be able to access them from the same gallery file from the HTML?
Can you add new photos directly without re-creating the gallery html file? In other words, If I could upload photos, and click a few buttons for the HTML file to generate the photos on the main page.... without needing to use photoshop?

If you're familiar with Coppermine - I'm trying to see how different photoshop web gallery is from Coppermine.
And/or if the Photoshop Web Gallery is what I need / want to use. I want/need to keep the photos hosted on my host site and wished I could find something that's AS user friendly as Coppermine was.
Thanks!

There are thousands of ways to make a photo gallery I have never used coppermine so cant compare it. But giving you the best option will also be hard at this time without knowing the format of your site if the gallery is on its own page or not etc the list goes on.
If you have access to ftp to your site then your best bet probablt will be to make a new gallery using 1 of the simpler methods ie using adobe lightroom, Or adobe Fireworks as this feature is no longer part of photoshop unless your using a 3rd party plugin. Or if you are using an old version of photoshop. Once your gallery is made Upload that as a seperate page to your domain and embed it into your website using an iframe.

Just look on youtube for photo gallery tutorials using specific programs or you may find another alternative that is better for you.

From what I understand, Coppermine is a program/software that you 'install' on your host site and its a SQL database - which is WAY over my head. My husband and I can learn almost anything (and willing to experiment), but sometimes.....complexities are too much and take too long to grasp concepts. Did that make sense?

I will do some research on lightroom, fireworks, and iframe and see if it anything we can grasp..... or if it'll even suite our needs.

Thanks!!!

Well like I said jquery is brilliant but from the sounds of it this website is not modern and mixing jquery with old websites optimised for ie 6 and below will just throw the whole page off. And a good chance it wont be able to run jquery scripts.

That said if you make a seperate webpage based on jquery you should be able to embed it into your regular site using an iframe.

More info is definately needed here before a best solution can be provided.

Link to website would actually make it a lot easier

number of pictures to be displayed

What size container you want your gallery in etc.
