I'm a new user here, but have been experimenting with Photoshop and learning through tutorials. Anyway, I really want to learn about interface and wallpaper design. I've found some great interface tutorials, but not as much for really good wallpapers. Could anyone give me help on making those cool crystaline formations or overall hints, tips, or tutorials for other effects that might be neat to have in a wallpaper? Thanks in advance.

Hi cmdrkettch and welcome to the forum! :)

I hope that you've checked out all of Mark's (theKeeper's) - tutorials. Just click on "The Photoshop Guru's Handbook" logo at the top of this page. Mark has some great "interface" stuff going on! ;) And... more in the works!

Fire up your browser and go to google.com Type in "Photoshop Tutorial - Crystals"... then "Photoshop Tutorial - Interface Design"... etc. Trust me, you'll get lots of great results! ;)

Thanks, Wendy. And yes, I've seen Mark's tutorials and love them, especially the Post-It one! Actually, this is the effect I'm looking for (the jutting-out polygons, not the guy with the gun, lol). What would you call it and would you know of any tutorials?

Hi cmdrkettch,

Could you post URL to a sample page which would have the sort of effect you are trying to learn? I'm brain dead this morning and your description brought no image to mind...

Welcome to the forums!

I don't know what you would call that cmdrkettch... but it looks like nothing more than a bunch of geometric shapes with various pattern/gradient overlays to me! ;)
