I would like you to change the number 6 to the number 9

It appears that yu have done that. Now, remove the 6 with the clone tool, replace tool, cut-paste etc. and move the 9 in to replace the 6. A mask can be used to fade back in the texture of the original sweater.

Same jersey............no need to even remove the 6, just overlay and position the 9 and done.
