Virtual Windows software for Mac machines

I have a MacBook Pro which I love and will not return to PC anything. But I posted a question on using a windows only filter called fractalius. I had my computer science all wrong. That is: you can not run a Mac Application such as PS for Mac through any virtual windows software unless the application is for windows i.e. PS for Windows. Right? If that is true, does anyone recommend and filter or plugin that emulates Fractalius fractal like filter?

I did a bit of research on this earlier and the general consensus was that there was not one for a Mac.

I'm getting confused over this....

Why would you want to run PS for Mac on a virtual Windows machine on a Mac?
You'd just run the PS on the Mac wouldn't you?

Anyway, whatever the situation THIS is what I thought you were doing.
If its not then I really don't see what it is you are trying to do in order to run a PS plugin written for Windows.

A virtual machine is the only way I know of to do it.....and thought this is what you had already setup.

If there is no Mac alternative to the plugin as Larry has pointed out then your options are limited.

Why not run Windows 10 as a Virtual machine and use that? (With a trial version of PS)
If nothing else it'll further convince you that moving away from Windows was a good idea.

Other than that I really don't know what else to suggest.

Regards.
MrTom.
