I am a photographer in my off hours and now I am working in an image analysis group at a large company. Normally I am doing software development, but there are times I get to play with the image analysis side of things.

One issue that came up yesterday was how to view the actual value of a pixel from a 16-bit image. When I open up a 16-bit image and use the color sample tool, the Info window only shows integers range of 0 to 255, with 16-bit it should either show a integer range of 0 to 65536 or show a factional range of 0.0 to 255.0.

Is there some way to get CS3 to show the true 16-value?
