Use of "embedded" actions

Hello
I would like to use "embedded" actions in Photoshop

For instance, I define some "basic" actions

- Action 1
- Action 2
- Action 3

And in a more complex action I would like to have

- New action
...........
Run Action 1
.............
Run Action 3
................

I've seen this possibility used in an action I downloaded, but don't see how I can do it with my own actions

Thanks for your help
Have a good day

Yes, one action can definitely call another, but there are many ways daisy-chaining actions can go wrong. For example, I'm pretty sure that the master action and all of the other actions that it calls should be in the same action set. Also, be very careful not to change the names of any action in such a sequence, and make each action robust (eg, an action shouldn't refer to a particular layer by a layer name specific to one image, but should reference it either in general terms (eg, Layer 0") or by position in the layer stack.

HTH,

Thank you
But HOW can I do that ?
I've tried, but don't find the way to "insert" the "Run Action" command when I record the action ;-(
I've looked at all the commands available for scripts (Insert message, Delete, Duplicate ...), but don't find anything
Thanks for your help

Is there a reason why you wouldn't want to make the other actions inclusive in the one action?

At the point you want to insert the "play action from within an action" step, just click on the desired action name in the other set (just like you would if you wanted to play it normally) and click the Play button. The action will run as usual. When it finishes playing, PS will record the step in the action being recorded. Either keep recording more steps or click Stop to terminate the recording session.

Trouble arises if the called action is renamed, moved to another action set or deleted. Also, if the action set that contains the called action is deleted or renamed.
