USA HD Logo - How Would You Create It?

Below is a logo that I wish to duplicate myself with as much accuracy as possible in Photoshop CS4. How would one replicate this? It's the S that throws me, it's connected to the U and A but inverted.

However it was made, how was it made? iDad could you reproduce that accurately?

probably, If I knew font used, but you already have the image, not understand what you want

Most likely 4 separate(maybe 5) layers U S A and silver background
the u was produced,then the S on a separate layer aligned over U edge then A same thing .piece of cake once you practice a bit

Thanks for your instructions but it is just too complex for me at the moment, at least in my mind. Never actually tried to reproduce it.
