I'm an elderly woman without a clue. I'm pressed for time and I've spent 4 days trying to no avail. I am trying to insert photos for making mugs at printerpix for birthday gifts. In some cases the photos upload just fine and make a nice looking mug. However, in some that are more portrait than landscape, the only occupy a small portion of the mug, centered opposite where the handle is. I am trying to join 2 pictures, either the same or, as in one case 2 different ones, so that they would fit the mug picture area better. The closest I have come is being able to place 2 photos side by side if I wanted to actually print them but I have been unable to actually save that look and printing would serve me no purpose. Add to that the fact that I have not been able to repeat that function anyway. After reading a bunch of posts here, I went over to look at the various picture sizes and they are not remotely close. However, when uploaded and placed on the mugs at the printerpix website as individual photos, they fit just fine. For instance, 2 pictures I would like to join measure 21.333" x 28.444" (34.81%) and 5.25" x 6.667" (100%). Each uploads to the mug just fine but I would assume that joining them would make one huge and the other small. I might be wrong, however. The people at the company couldn't help at all. Any suggestions? Instructions would have to be quite clear, precise and simple as I don't have a clue and do not speak Photoshop.

What program(s) do you have for editing pictures? I could walk you through the steps on Photoshop but if you don't have access to that program it won't help much. Although any of us could resize and combine them for you, that won't help you down the road.

There's nothing hard here and I'm sure you can accomplish this yourself. We just need to know what you are working with.

Hi sweetsuzee,
I have experience making mugs with sublimation. Let me take a look at printerpix as I am not familiar with that process. I'll be back.

Edit: I see now that this is a service where you upload a photo and they will make a product for you.
A standard 11 oz coffee mug has a 8.5" x 3" space. Your images should be edited with software to fit this size. If possible, they should be 300ppi to get the best quality print. If you will post these here, some of us will help you. If you like, you can PM me, I'll give you my e-mail , you can mail me the photos, and I will personally help you. Take a hint from my name and you will see I am always willing to help senior citizens, because I am one!

Hi Alb - I would PM you if I had a clue. I'm assuming that is "private mail". My email is suesarkis at aol dot com if that is what you wanted. If not, please advise. I will gladly, I mean really gladly share the pics for editing assistance. Thanks kindly, Sue

The only software I have that I am aware of is Photoshop. Please don't assume for one second that "there's nothing hard here". You must be young as some of us older farts truly do have difficulty understanding. I'm not stupid, mind you, just Photoshop illiterate. Thank you for your reply. I am grateful for any and all help I can get.

My friend, I'm a certified Baby Boomer so probably qualify as an old fart myself. But don't tell anybody. I'm holding on to the illusion as long as I can. ;)

Larry (ALB68) is good at this and he'll fix you right up.

I'm a boomer.............so I would qualify for that moniker.

I love your response. I have to laugh as for those of us born in the first half of the last century, time is moving so quickly. Back in the mid 80's I was the computer guru for everyone else as I was well versed in DOS, understood dot matrix especially on how to silence them, etc., etc., etc. Then along came Windows and I've been in shock ever since. Don't get me wrong, I am fully computer competent for the normal, everyday stuff but when I have to jump into a software I've never used such as Photoshop, try as I might I just walk away feeling stupid. In this case I'm panicking because there is a time crunch and I'm already 5 days past the deadline. Yes, Larry has been very gracious with his offer of assistance. And thank you, too. Sincerely, Sue

Hahaha..yes Sue, first PC I ever saw ran on DOS. Hardly no software out there. But I have been doing it ever since for some 25 years now. Some of the things today blow my mind, especially the internet. I sent you an edit via email.

I think boomers were born AFTER WWII. I was born 1 month before USA bombed Japan, so I am borderline. Got a BD coming up next week, 69.

Boomers were born between 1946 to 1664. The bombings were in 45, you missed out Larry!
