Unlock Background

How do I unlock the background layer? I think I remember it's alt+something. Thanks

ALT + Double click the layer in layer pallete....

or just double click the layer

Or drag the lock to the delete can

That's what i love about Photoshop.... so many ways to do so m,any things and all right. and so may many people to help.. thanks for this.

I just duplicate the layer, work on new layer in a none destructive way, keep the original.
