I have been photo shopping for quite a few years but I still can't figure out how to undo a single step.
If I clone, erase, use brush, resize etc and then I want to undo one step of cloning (for example) I end up un doing everything.
I feel really stupid now

Unfortunately, there's no way you can undo a single process/state within the history timeline without undoing every move that succeeds it. The history brush can restore a section of the worked image to its original saved state OR point (SNAPSHOT) in the history work flow.

BUT... you can delete a state in the timeline. Find that state , right click>delete or simply click and drag it into the pallet trash bin.

But there's a drawback.... All the states before it will be deleted as well. Snapshots created within the deleted flow will be retained.

Which is why its a good practice to take history Snapshots at moments when you feel the work is how you want it or to your liking.

Ok, I've been playing with the History Brush, and it does erase all states after a change as well unless your using a snapshot. So that won't work.

Snapshots is the best answer so far.

If any of you has worked with Paint Shop Pro, that software allows you to undo one step in the history pannel. That's why I was trying to find it in PS too.

I will look through all your suggestions, thanks
