Ugh Waterfall exaggeration

I have been working on this thing for hours, now I can hardly see. I wanted to try to do some kind of fantasy thing. I could have used like about 2 or three pictures for practice but since I always exaggerate I must have used at least 5 waterfalls and at least 6 more pictures.

I want to put some small people or objects somewhere so that it get a sense of perpsective, and I would also like to know how to do something that gives it some depth. I have changed things so many times now that I have gone blind to it.

If anyone would like to help and tell me what to do now, I would appreciate it, I´m totally pooped lol. :)

Initial obs: direct center is a water feature that seems not only unnecessary but takes away from enjoyment of other elements. Does the walkway extend further back, because that would give it more depth and interest. I think if you did something like that, you might also move that leftmost boulder and put it one the other side of the tree or down on the ground to keep the tie-in with the other boulder.

Just ideas, and since I can't see what image is part of another or by itself, it's pretty hard to sort out what can be moved or not. I think if you shadowed the upper left and added some blur, you'd get more depth. Then you'd have a nice balance of sharp foreground on the lower right and soft receding landscape on the upper left.

I'm also a wee bit confused about the water element on the lower left. The top looks very odd and I can't interpret what I'm looking at. Maybe if the top where chopped off and it appeared to come from a source deeper in the green it would be more clear. You're gonna get me Vafann, cause I keep seeing something else and I'm being pretty nitpicky just so I can piss you off. Not! The coppery color on the right is what you are using to emphasize foreground, or so it appears. If you want the wooden bridge/walkway to recede, it should be a different tone or color.

Just be sure you take everything I say with a grain of salt. OK, going to hide now from the wrath of a tired Vafann. :bustagut:  :bustagut:

:D yeaaaa.... Vafann, a tip regarding making these montage is to work very hard on focal dept, light & shadows. Especially the focal dept. Here you have both blur and sharpness at the exact same dept and some things further in to the photo have more focus than things a bit closer.

Yes, well put. Colors and saturation figure in too.

BTW, I think it is a very beautiful idea and you will make it a gorgeous composition!

Clare I am utterly grateful for this! I can see what you mean on almost all of the things you have said, and what I don´t understand yet, I´ll figure out. You have really taken the time to go through the details, and that kind of nit-pickiness is gold to me! If I am going to learn how to do things, it´s exactly this kind of help I need in order to proceed:)

Also now that I have slept and rested my eyes, I can see it better. I am going to try and redo things after your suggstions, though I am going to have to change a lot of things completely, since like you said, you can´t see the elements I have used to put it together with and some of the things that you suggested I move or take out, are all in one lump or something.
I am gonna get you alright, with a big sloppy kiss for helping me like this lol:) Thanks again! Now I´m going to see what I can do about it.:)

Thank you Fenix! Yes, I understand what you mean, that´s the problem. I can see that these things are wrong but I don´t know how to fix them. I think I am going to have to start following a lot of tutorials so that I can learn how to do these things first before just slabbing things on and then trying to fix them afterwards. I also have eye problems and have recently had eye surgery on one eye, but I won´t be able to see right until I have operated the other one and after that gotten glasses.

I am very thankful for you pointing these things out to me, so I know what it is I need to work on. :) Thank you again!!
