I need to use photo shop to make a poster for a class using only words. We can shape and bend those words to make the poster appealing, how do I do that? I have never used photo shop before. Help!!! (It's due tomorrow at midnight.)

It is very easy with the later versions, but more difficult for a complete novice with the earlier versions. Which version of Photoshop are you using?

There are two ways:

Create your text, then making sure the text layer is selected, click on the Warp Text button in the Options Bar (it's a crescent with the letter T over the top). Experiment with it until you get something you like.

I prefer to have more control. Create your text, RASTERIZE the layer (Layer menu/select Rasterize then Type). Go to the EDIT drop down menu, select TRANSFORM then WARP. By moving the "control points", you can now manipulate the text.

Warning: you cannot use fonts that use faux bold formatting or that use fonts without outline data (such as bitmaps).

Hope that helps.
