Hello all,
I am a photographer trying to create a signature brush for signing my work in cs2.
I have done everything you are supposed to do but after I marquee my free form signature and text I cannot define the brush preset under edit. It is greyed out. This is driving me nuts. What am I missing?

I have followed directions from several book sources (and I have rasterized the text). The only preset not greyed out is define pattern. Can someone give me some hints? This should be a real simple exercise but I'm stuck. Thanks

Bob

I'm having a similar problem to Bob. I've tried (almost) everything. Looked all through Google but the question seems to be being ignored. Not sure where to turn.

The only way that I can get CS4 to "grey out" define brush is if my canvas is too large. 2500 pixels wide or high is the cutoff. I even adjusted the resolution all the way up to 1200ppi. Changed to all the different color modes and bits. It always works for me unless I get above 2500 pixels.

Something to check into,
Dave

I had this problem too.
My selection (and my image) weren't over 2500 pixels.
I had 2 layers, an empty background, and the layer with the brush design on it.
There was no text to rasterize, and the image mode was set to greyscale.

I saved the image, closed the file and reloaded it.

After reloading, the Edit > Define Brush Preset... was no longer greyed out. And it didn't matter which layer was selected either.
