I made this the other day when i came home from a vacation in Paris.

I'm not really all that happy with how the meteorite turned out, so i would really like some ideas on how to make it better (it was made with render clouds and a bunch of layer styles).

(The file was too big so i had to upload it to imgur and put in a link).

i would say the flames are too yellow if you make them more orange, it might look slightly better. HOWEVER meteorites can contain gases that burn different colors but people are used to a more orange-red flame with yellow at the middle, so it might be easier for people to distinguish it as a burning rock :P

add a rock texture onto the meteor as well AND give the falling debris a SLIGHT motion blur to make it look like it's falling ;) hope that helped you out a bit! love it though!

loads of meteors in a post apocalyptic scene? hey, there's an idea for you Mads_Damm, turn it into a really dark post apocalyptic theme and show us what you get! ;)

smoke normally evaporates and expands the further it is from its source, so maybe make the end of the smoke trial wider than the beginning?

How can you be so skeptical?
He clearly wanted it to be unrealistic; Also, the concept you are referring to is diffusion.
-Have a nice day.
