Hello!

I'm new to this forum.
I have some strange thing going on with my PS Cs4.

Lots of tools are freezing for me, let me explain:

For example when I use clone tool, this ring shows, as it suppose to.
But suddenly the ring wont disappear even if i hoover the menu (then it should shift to an arrow). Then i have to wait for about one minute, it's like it need huge loading time after i clone 1 time, ore some kind of lag.

This happens with a lot of tools.

Now i have reset photoshop general preferences, restarted the computer several times. I still haven't reinstalled photoshop witch i hope i don't need to.

There Shouldn't be a problem with performance i use MacPro 2.66 quad core, 5gb ddr3, with regulary cleaned caches. I only use it for editing. I use a Wacom 4 Intous board... don't know if it messes things up (it shouldn't).

If you have any ideas i appreciate if you write them down for me.
Thank's for your time.

Looks like you may have a program running in the backround of your pc.
This will cause many programs like PS to lag.

I would strongly advise a virus scan as that could also be the problem

Hope this helps

Hi!
Thank you for the input.

What kind of program would that be?
There's a lot going on in the activity monitor, but cant I cant really tell if something there is disturbing PS that would be impossible for me to se.

I did a virus scan, but there were no infected files.

frozen tools

a lot of the anti-virus progs like McAffee will interfere with the smooth running of a program
Press cont-alt-delete to bring up your task manager and press applications.
That will show you what may be running on your computer.
( this is for a pc not mac. dont know how to check mac sorry)
