Hey guys. I'm having a teensy, tinny problem with my computer... I have a white box on my screen that I can't get rid of. I can't click on anything behind it and it appears in screenshots, like this one. Any ideas? It's there as soon as i start the computer, (yes. I've restarted)

Memory issue, maybe? any warnings or anything pop up?

When did this start happening, can you trace it to an event, software update, etc.?

When does this happen, as soon as there's anything on the monitor or not until Windows actually loads?
Did you try Safe Mode?

It wouldn't hurt to re-seat your video card and check your video cable.

happened last night when i started the computer up. haven't installed software for weeks. ill also try the safe mode.

fixed it. a virus i got from a friends email was hidding in an attachment. nailed the little guy. didn't do anything but annoy me :p

yea, figured that it must be a program after u asked if it was happening after startup. and i figured since i haven't installed anything, it must have been something else. So, scanned with windows essentials and bam. it wasn't detected by quickscan because it wasn't in a normal location where viruses tend to hide.

I'm glad something I said triggered something for you.
I'm anal when it comes to scanning and watching for viruses, but today you never know.
These hackers are getting more and more sophisticated.

I don't even run a virus scanner LOL!!! Haven't for years.. All they are is a false sense of security for the majority of people who use them. If i do happen to catch a virus, i just track it down manually and get rid of it. If that don't work, FORMAT!!
