Illustrator transparent with shadows

Hi,
I have an eps file for web graphic set but when I try to export to Photoshop or save for web as png with transparent background I get whites around the shadow (pic attached)



Please advise how to remove the whites around the shadow

try adding an alpha in the channel tab

In Photoshop, make a selection around the blue and white rectangle with the face (excluding the shadow) then copy that to a new layer.
Go back to the bottom layer and change the layer mode to "Multiply" then go to "File/Save for Web and Devices" and save it as a png 24 file (with the transparency box checked).
