Transparency on changing backgrounds question

Hi all,

long time no talk, I hope everyone is ok! :)

I have a bit of a challenge here. I want to create transparent gifs for company logos which I can place of different backgrounds on a web page. Now the problem is of course that I will always have some sort of matte color giving me funky pixels on the edge of my logos if the background colors are dramatically different.

What I'm wondering is whether there's some sort of engine or script which can do this for me. Like resample the gif with the background color of the page or giving it the matte of the background color of the page or sth like that.

Or is there any other technique I could use to achieve this?

Basically I want a folder of logos on my server and whichever page they appear on they always blend into the background of the page.

Cheers

Chris

I see here a lot of work cleaning "funky" pixels...or replicating with different backgound colors.
I don't know a script to do that.

Good luck

What about Imagemagick? Could that do it?

At the moment I'm thinking of converting to .png and make use of it's superior transparency handler...and superior everything else, too :) Any drawbacks with that you know of?

Cheers

Chris

hey what about exporting the .psd to macromeda flash with transparent background ? I always do that but I always use a plugin or quick time for that.

plugin name is psd2fla
