Transferring layer to new image keeping it in the same position

Hi all,

As the title states can anyone please tell me how to keep the layer in the same position as in the original image when moving it to a new image

shift key

If you're destination document is identical in size to the original (in width and height) then just hold the shift key and click and drag the layer from the original to the new document. Photoshop will place it in the exact same spot.
