lol Whittingham here ,hya alli get a constant problem with the tools on my elements 6. that is that they keep changing and even when I "reset all tools " they don't always revert back. like if I click on dodge tool for instance, instead of being a round brush tool , it appears as what looks like a clone tool but still does the ''dodging' ? I know that the cap shift can play a part , but this seams to be all too often. , anyone else had the same problem or could help me ???

Hi lolwit, and welcome to the forum! I personally have no experience with this kind of issue either with Photoshop or Elements. I believe I would reset the preference first. If the problem remains, I would uninstall and reinstall the program. Somethings definitely amiss here!

EDIT: Found this as well..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-loowrOtvVk

Windows
Step 1. Hold down the Alt + Ctrl + Shift keys as you click on the icon to open Elements. When asked if you want to delete the settings file, say yes.
Step 2. Reset the preferences as above.
Step 3. Close Elements and let the file regenerate.

Mac
Step 1. Hold down the Opt + Cmd + Shift keys as you click on the icon to open Elements. When asked if you want to delete the settings file, say yes.
Step 2. Reset the preferences as above.
Step 3. Close Elements and let the file regenerate.
