Hi everyone,

the cursor on following tools act weird;
bruches, healing br, clonestamp, eraser etc.

when i try to retouch a photo with one of the above tools something strange happens.
the cursor of these tools are always a crosshair of 1px.
if i click for example on the bruch tool and change the size of the tool to 35px then the tool act like a 35px tool but i can't see the circle (or alike) because the cursor stay a crosshair size 1px.
so i have no control of what i'm doing.
any ideas how i can fix this problem?

btw it's a brand new pc with win7 64bit and cs5 64b
it happen since i run cs5 from the first time
have not touch de default settings

thanks for any help

sorry for my bad English it's not my mothertongue

Aha... tool shape . You have to change the default preference . Sadly I'm on PS7 in my laptop and I'm not home where CS is in my main com. And my brain is scratchy on this part.

But I think it's in MENU>EDIT>PREFERENCES>DISPLAY&CURSORS..... now, you are set at PRECISE ... select BRUSH SIZE for Painting and STANDARD for other cursors.

I forgot... you have to close and re-start Photoshop for the changes to work.

thanks for your answer but these settings are the default settings

have first done CTRL-SHIFT-ALT on startup cs5 to reset everything in preferences and the default are just the same like you say

the result is exactly the same, a beautiful crosshair 1px in size :)

hi all,

thanks to every one trying to solve the problem

Problem solved but you will not believe this :-

during the weekend have a good old friend visiting me
told him about the problem with the new pc and cs5

he says a piece of cake to solve this problem (i have not use cs5 since my question here)

so he says open cs 5 and without closing the program itself shut down the pc and restart the pc
(i tought win7 close every program if you do so!!)
then start cs5 again ( problem stil there)
after the 3th time we do this and starting cs5 again the problem was solved
what was wrong ??? we don't know but who's care it work without any problems now
