thumbnail problem

Hi everyone, I'm new here and this is my first post.
Hope someone can help.

Sometimes when I crop a photo and save to file, the thumbnail still shows the original uncropped version. I took two photos of my work yesterday (I'm a painter), one I cropped and saved and the thumbnail is perfect, the other has the problem I've described. I've tried renaming it, saving it in a different place, closing down photoshop and starting again, and even retook the photo all to no avail. It's not the first time this has happened but it's starting to drive me bonkers. I can, of course, right click the thumbnail and refresh the image and it's ok, but if I burn a cd the thumbnails revert back to the uncropped versions.

Any ideas?
