Hello everyone

I usually search and stalk the forum but I have been looking for hours with no luck. I am trying to figure out how my previous designer altered simple text. She took stencil font and made it look tattered by doing something to it. I would imagine either erasing or painting with one of the brushes but I cannot duplicate her actions. When I try to recreate her tattered text look, my "cutouts" look blurry and fuzzy. Her cutouts looks sharp, crisp and clean. All I know of photoshop CS2 is what I taught myself and that can only get me so far - so any help would be greatly appreciated. If this doesn't make sense please let me know what other information I could provide to help with the assist. Additionally the link in my signature shows what I am trying to accomplish. Thanks again, I will be looking forward to your responses!

Make a vector mask on the text layer and use a few different grunge brushes to paint on the mask with black. If you don't already have some grunge brushes just do a search, there's a lot of free brushes floating around.
