A lone surfer stood in overcast Bunker Bay early this morning, throwing a single lily into the waves where a 21-year-old bodyboarder lost his life in yesterday's shark attack.

Old-time surfer Lou Corkill came to the popular South West beach early to pay tribute to the stricken Margaret River man.

The bodyboarder was dead before fellow surfers could drag him ashore, just after 1pm yesterday.

Police say the man was in the water with a mate when he was attacked, about 1km from the Bunkers Beach Cafe.

I still go in almost every day, poor blokes mother as to identify whats left now:cry:

Sort of puts things into perspective.

Strangely enough, there was a man found dead on our beach yesterday morning. It turns out he and 4 o 5 buddies from Mexico were swimming over the Mex-US border in high surf and one drowned. There was still some activity when Luci (my dog) and I went out for a walk on the beach. Yes, it does put things into perspective Paul.
I think it's especially sad since these people shouldn't have to sneak across . . . (but I digress)

Yep, there country originally snatched from them by the man, same thing happened here with the aboriginals.
